MOO Food Zero Waste Kitchen Challenge Week 2

13 September 2021

6 September - 14 November 2021

Welcome to the 2021 MOO Food Zerowaste Kitchen Challenge! We are inviting as many people as possible, wherever you live, to take part in this 10 week challenge to see how much waste we can reduce between us! We are focussing on 5 topics; Composting, Storage & Packaging, Leftovers & Meal Planning, Cleaning and Out & About.

Food waste is a huge problem, especially in many parts of the Highlands where we don’t have food waste collection. The good news is, there is a lot we can do as individuals when it comes to reducing waste from our own homes. Our aim is to focus on helping people to think first of all about what you bring into your own home (this can save money as well as waste!), looking after it once it is there (with good storage, meal planning & recipes) and turning any unavoidable food waste into a valuable resource (via composting).

Scotland's Climate Week 2021

13 September 2021

Monday 13 - Sunday 19 September   2021

In the run up to the COP26 UN climate conference in Glasgow in November, Scotland's Climate Week is being promoted by the Scottish Government's Net Zero Nation campaign and the Sustainable Scotland Network.  From the SSN website

Climate Week is an annual Scottish Government initiative to develop understanding of the global climate emergency and celebrate Scotland’s leadership in climate action.

This year, Climate Week will centre on the run up to COP26, to showcase the leading climate action already underway across Scotland’s private and public sectors and encourage further action before, during and beyond COP26 that demonstrates our collective national endeavour to protect the planet we love.
